Institute of Advanced Study in Science and Technology in association with Bio-NEST IASST celebrated International Women's Day with the theme "DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality" by organizing a motivational talk by the Guest speaker- Dr. Sriparna B Baruah, who is currently associated with North Eastern Handloom and Handicrafts Development Corporation (Purbashree) as Advisor (Livelihoods and Entrepreneurship) and was associated with the Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship, Guwahati, Assam, India as Head (Centre for Industrial Extension) and as Director i/c.

During her career span of 35 years, apart from playing a pioneering role in promoting Management Education in N.E India, she has worked actively towards developing the eco-system for promoting women entrepreneurs and start-ups in the social sector. She also received the lifetime achievement award for her contribution to the field of entrepreneurship development and livelihoods from National Foundation for Entrepreneurship Development 2022.

The event was moderated by Dr. Tania Paul Das (Bio-NEST IASST) and initiated with the welcome address by Dr. Arundhuti Devi (Chairperson of ICC, IASST). The Inaugural speech was rendered by Prof. Nilotpal Sen Sharma (Director i/c) in absentia of Prof. Ashis K. Mukherjee, Director-IASST, and ended with a vote of thanks by Dr. Subir Biswas of Physical Science Division, IASST.

The event was successfully conducted with the active participation of the students, staff, and faculty of IASST's fraternity and the Team of Bio-NEST IASST
