FAME- Biotech 2021 (A Hackathon)

To Promote the spirit of entrepreneurship, a hackathon in the name of FAME- Biotech 2021: Focus on Applied Medicine and Engineering for Biotech was organized for identifying potential and pioneering idea on product development on the following aspects but not limited to the following fields:

  • Bio-based medicine for ailments that needs special attention.
  • Agri- based formulations for improving the crop yield.
  • Health, Hygiene & Sanitation for improving quality of life.
  • Bioengineering of medical device, diagnostic kits, scaffolds for tissue engineering etc.
  • Efficient Drug delivery tools and techniques.

Prize money of Rs. 10000/-, Rs. 7500/- and Rs. 5000/- was set for 3 best ideas.along with these prizes, consolation prize of ?2500/- each to 3 Runner-up ideas was assured .  it was also decided to give Added Benefit of Pre-Incubation Mentoring to all the Qualifying proposals .

The selection process was as follows:

  • Proposal was shortlisted by Expert Committee on the Basis of Need/ Impact/ Viability/Novelty.
  • Selected Individual/Team/ Company had to pitch for their product/proposal by an oral presentation.
  •  Finally deserving candidates were selected for felicitation followed by incubation at BioNest-IASST.
