IASST hosts an Exposure Visit for entrepreneurs


In a bid to nurture entrepreneurship and empower aspiring entrepreneurs in Assam, BioNEST-IASST recently hosted an industry exposure visit as part of the Skill Development Training Program organized by the Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE). The event took place today at the APJ Abdul Kalam Auditorium at the Institute of Advanced Study in Science and Technology (IASST), drawing thirty enthusiastic participants from various districts of Assam.

Mr. Sagar Kumar Manager (I&O) at BioNEST-IASST eloquently elucidated the intricacies of entrepreneurship, emphasizing the essential traits required by aspiring entrepreneurs through his introductory speech. The second session of the program featured Dr. Tania Paul Das, Manager (S&T) at BioNEST-IASST who presented an insightful discussion centered on the challenges and opportunities in commercializing innovative ideas. One of the highlights of the event was the practical exposure to the production of tofu from soy milk, a key aspect of entrepreneurship in the food industry. Dr. Moloyjo Joyraj Bhattacharjee, Project Scientist at IASST, provided an overview of different perspectives on ethnic foods, expanding the participants' horizons in the culinary world. Additionally, a hands-on training session was conducted by Bikram Basumatary, Secretary of the Daogalang Soy Society in Udalguri.
