The topic for the webinar was “Know-how of commercializing Nutraceuticals and Functional Foods” which was addressed by Dr. Madhumita Barooah, Professor - Department of Biotechnology, Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat The inaugural speech was delivered by Dr. K. Karthikeyan, CEO of AAU NEATEHUB. In her talk, Dr. Barooah defined Nutraceuticals, and stated differences between dietary supplements and functional foods. She gave a scenario of the nutraceutical market in India, and emphasized on the development steps and business strategy of producing functional foods for market. She also gave a know-how of acquiring nutraceutical licenses, branding techniques and schemes that support nutraceuticals development in India. A total of 40 participants attended the session.
