Institute of Advanced Study in Science and Technology (IASST) and BioNEST IASST are jointly organizing a One-Day Workshop on  Fluorescence Activated Cell Sorter (FACS) supported by BD on 29th May 2023 at IASST Campus from 9 AM onwards.

About the workshop: Fluorescence Activate Cell Sorter (FACS) workshop is aimed to educate and provide basic knowledge about the principles, and working of a flow cytometer, and its applications for postgraduate students, Ph.D. scholars, faculty members from Colleges/Universities, and Industry persons. During the workshop, we plan to emphasize a few commonly used flow cytometry-based experiments like mitochondrial functional assay, cell cycle analysis, apoptosis, and cell sorting. This workshop will provide detailed insight into the technique of flow cytometry and its common applications, thereby providing researchers from varying fields with the knowledge to understand, plan and carry out experiments using flow cytometry.

Outcome of the workshop: At the end of the workshop, participants will understand the basic principles of flow cytometry, instrument components, sample preparation, data analysis, and cell sorting.

Who can attend: M.Sc./M.Tech./M.Pharm./Ph.D. Students/Project Staff/ Innovators/Entrepreneurs/Faculty Members below the age of 40 years.

No. of seats: 15 (allotment on a first come first serve basis, preference will be given to those who use/intend to use flow cytometric analysis in their routine work)

Workshop registration includes: Registration fees for this workshop include lunch, refreshments, a registration kit, and a participation certificate.

Registration Fee: Rs. 1000/- only (Registration is purely based on first cum first-serve basis)
